Biographical Information[edit]

Henry Corniel has been a minor league player and coach.

Corniel made his pro debut with the 1994 DSL Athletics, going 0 for 9 with 5 walks as a backup left fielder. Moving to the mound, he had a 13.50 ERA for the DSL A's in 1995. In 1996, he improved to 5-3, 1.74 for the same club. Had he qualified, he would have been 4th in the Dominican Summer League in ERA. He came stateside with the 1997 AZL Athletics. He was 2-1 with 3 saves and a 6.46 ERA, allowing 42 hits in 30 2/3 innings. As a backup outfielder, he was 1 for 7 with a double. He was with the AZL A's again in '98, improving to 3-1, 3.11 (third-lowest ERA of the team's hurlers who worked 10+ IP) and going 1 for 1 at the plate to end his playing career.
