Henrik Johansson debuted in the Elitserien in 2004 with the Skövde Saints, hitting .231/.391/.242 and fielding .839 at shortstop. He also pitched, going 1-4 with a 7.53 ERA; in 49 innings, he walked 41 and allowed 71 hits. In 2005, Johansson batted .350/.419/.387 for the Saints and had a 1-1, 5.14 record. The team was then relegated out of the top division.

In 2008, Johansson returned to the Elitserien with the Leksand Lumberjacks, going two for two. He moved to the Karlskoga Bats in 2009 and was hitting .407/.500/.697 in mid-August, ranking among the league's top performers. He was put on Sweden's preliminary 40-man roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
