Henk Meerleveld

Henk Meerleveld was an umpire for 36 years in the Netherlands. From 1983-2008, he was an umpire in the Hoofdklasse, working over 700 games. He also worked the 2005 Baseball World Cup, the Haarlem Baseball Week and World Port Tournament. Meerleveld was one of the few umpires in Hoofdklasse to debut as the home plate ump; two of the four members of the umpiring crew missed the game due to injuries and the third one was having leg trouble and unable to crouch behind home.
