Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Hector Perez was signed by the Houston Astros before the 2015 season. He pitched for multiple teams in each of his first four seasons as a pro, starting in the Dominican Summer League in 2015 and ending up in AA with the Corpus Christi Hooks of the Texas League by mid-season in 2018. He did not necessarily compile very impressive win totals those first four years, but he racked up a lot of strikeouts, including 128 in 107 1/3 innings for two teams in 2017. On July 30, 2018, he was sent to the Toronto Blue Jays along with Ken Giles and David Paulino in return for controversial closer Roberto Osuna.
