Biographical Information[edit]

Hayden Penn was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 5th round of the 2002 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Ray Krawczyk and made his pro debut the next summer.

Penn underwent surgery on May 2, 2007, to remove a bone chip from his right elbow. He made his first minor league rehab start after the surgery on August 13th. He pitched for the Florida Marlins in 2009 and for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2010. After Pittsburgh let him go, he signed with the Chiba Lotte Marines. He was 1-3 in the 2010 regular season for Chiba Lotte but then won Game 5 of the 2010 Japan Series to help the team win its second title.
