Harvey Schiller
Harvey Wallace Schiller
On March 3, 2007, Harvey Schiller was elected as president of the International Baseball Federation. The previous president, Aldo Notari, had died on July 25, 2006. Schiller had previously served as Executive Director and Secretary General of the US Olympic Committee in 1990, was on the Executive Committee of the NCAA and was president of Sports for Turner Broadcasting. In 2000, he became the CEO of the group that owns the New York Yankees, New Jersey Nets (NBA) and New Jersey Devils (NHL). He also chaired New York's bid for the 2012 Olympics.
During his tenure as President of IBAF, a controversial new rule about how extra innings are played in certain international competitions was adopted. The rule has since been dubbed the "Schiller Rule".
On December 6, 2009, he stepped down and was replaced by Ricardo Fraccari.
