Biographical Information

Haruo Wakimura was an infielder for the 1949 National High School Baseball Championship winners. He was captain at the University of Tokyo, where he hit .180. He later played semipro ball. He was head of Japan's high school baseball federation from 2002-2008. For his work in that role, he won induction to the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019, his sixth year on the ballot.
