Biographical Information

Second baseman Harry Gilbert was the brother of John Gilbert. The two Gilbert brothers were semi-pro players given a chance in the majors by the Pittsburgh Alleghenys in 1890, in a year when the team went 23-113. The two brothers played second and short during both ends of a doubleheader on June 23rd, and each got eight plate appearances. [1]
