Harry Bassin reached AA, which was then the highest tier of the minor leagues.

Bassin was a two-sport athlete in college, leading Georgetown in scoring (9 PPG) as a sophomore. He was All-Conference in basketball in 1937-1938. He signed with the New York Yankees and split the summer of 1938 between the Joplin Miners (.305/?/.495 in 29 G), Wilkes-Barre Barons (14 for 35, 2B) and Newark Bears (7 for 25, HR). He played in 1939 for the Binghamton Triplets and Williamsport Grays, hitting a combined .269 with a .386 slugging percentage. In 1940, he was with the Oklahoma City Indians (.275/?/.404 in 100 G) and Newark (0 for 6). With Binghamton in 1941, the first baseman hit .272 and slugging .355. He had hit .276/?/.390 in 393 games in the minors, while fielding around .988.
