Biographical Information[edit]
Harley Bowers was a long-time journalist.
Bowers was in the Army Air Corps during World War II, working on B-24 bombers. He was a sports editor and journalist for the Macon Telegraph from 1959-1996. He wrote over 11,000 columns. He also worked in public relations for the St. Louis Cardinals. He was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame in 1987 and was part of the inaugural South Atlantic League Hall of Fame class of 1994.
