Biographical Information[edit]

Hang Lin pitched in the CPBL for 4 years.

Lin represented Taiwan in the 2009 World Youth Championship, allowing 3 hits, 7 walks and 5 runs (3 earned) in 3 1/3 IP while striking out two. He was drafted by the Uni-President Lions in the 7th round of the 2016 CPBL Draft, and he had a 7.13 ERA in 14 games in the minors in 2017 . He also pitched 6 games with the big club, but he allowed 8 runs in 2 1/3 innings. Lin then had a 10.12 ERA in 21 appearances in 2018, then his ERA was 6.00 in 30 games in 2019. Since he mainly stayed in the minors, Lin only pitched 5 games combined with the big club in those two seasons. He improved to a 4.40 ERA in 35 games in 2020, and he also got 13 appearances with the big club. However, his ERA was 16.88, and he never pitched another game in the major league until the Lions released him in 2022.

Lin’s repertoire included a fastball (peak 87 mph), forkball, curveball and sinker.

Overall, Lin was 0-0 with a 17.80 ERA, pitched 14 2/3 innings and struck out 7 in 4 seasons in the CPBL.
