Hall of Fame Monitor Test

The Hall of Fame Monitor Test is a Bill James creation to determine how likely an active player is to make the Hall of Fame. It uses a rough scale where 100 points means a good possibility and 130 points is a virtual cinch.

The metric uses a point scale based on career stats, seasons above certain statistical threshold, seasons on postseason-bound teams, awards won, postseason performance, and positional bonuses.

The all-time leader in batting points is Stan Musial at 454; Walter Johnson leads in pitching points at 365.
