Habana

The Habana (Havana) club had the longest run in the Cuban Winter League, participating in 74 seaasons from 1878-1961. They finished first the most times (30), were second 22 times, third 16 times and fourth six times. Overall, their record was 1,553-1,338 and they had the most wins in CWL history, edging their rival Almendares Blues by 31. They also lost 34 more than the Blues for the record there as well. The team was known as the Havana Reds for most of their existance and towards the end were renamed the Havana Lions. They won the 1952 Caribbean Series behind the pitching of Tommy Fine. Many Hall of Famers appeared for Habana over the years.
