Biographical Information[edit]
"Since his return to the big show, Guy Zinn, the former New York - Rochester player, has done some remarkable work for the Boston Braves." - from the Sporting Life issue of September 13, 1913
Guy Zinn played five years in the majors. He was an above-average hitter, and played in all three outfield positions.
Guy was born in West Virginia. The only other major leaguer born in 1887 in West Virginia was John Scheneberg.
Zinn played at least 13 seasons in the minors, with a variety of teams such as the Hamilton Tigers in Canada and the New Orleans Pelicans. At one point in September 1912 it was reported that he was refusing to play for Rochester and had been suspended.
He broke his ankle during an exhibition game in the summer of 1914.
