Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Guillermo Rosario was signed as an international amateur free agent on July 25, 2022 and began his pro career one year later with the DSL Phillies White, hitting .264/.402/.319 in 32 games, showing an excellent eye at the plate (although pitchers in the Dominican Summer League are notoriously wild).
In 2024, he moved up to the FCL Phillies where he was the team's starting catcher and continued to impress on both sides of the ball. On July 4th, he made highlight reels across the country thanks to an unbelievable catch of a foul tip behind the plate. Enmanuel Bonilla of the FCL Blue Jays, himself a top prospect, fouled a pitch directly behind him; it bounced on the inside of Guillermo's left thigh and straight into his bare right hand, just off the ground, where he caught it on the fly. It happened so quickly that replays needed to be slowed down and enhanced to capture the incredible reflexes needed to make such a grab. To make things even better, it was strike three and Bonilla was out.
