Guillermo González was on the Spanish national team in the first European Championship, in 1954. In the championship game, he hit 9th and started at 1B against Italy. He went 0 for 3 with a walk against Giulio Glorioso and Carlo Tagliaboschi while handling 7 putouts and making one error; Nicolás López took over for him late in the loss.
