Guacara 1 (VSL)

Guacara 1 was one of two Venezuelan Summer League clubs from Guacara, Carabobo in the VSL's first two seasons. In 1997, they finished in last place at 24-31 but they turned it around to take the pennant at 42-18 in 1998. In '98, the team was stocked with players from the Milwaukee Brewers, San Francisco Giants and Florida Marlins. Jorge Cordova (6-2, 0.83, 119 K) led the league in both ERA and strikeouts.
