Biographical Information[edit]

Gordie Sundin gave up a run in his only major league appearance but he did not record an out; thus his ERA is infinity. He was 18 years old in his one major league game.

Gordie had pitched in the Piedmont League in 1955 and would go on to play in the minors through 1961. He was with the Vancouver Mounties of the Pacific Coast League for parts of three seasons.

Sundin was a notable high school athlete, winning nine letters while in school. He was All-State in each of football, basketball and baseball. He was already 6' 4" tall at age 15, and yet set a 400-yard race record that lasted for decades.

He married Mary Ann Dorsey, a member of the 1956 United States Olympic Figure Skating team.
