Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman/outfielder Glenn Sullivan played in the Chicago Cubs system from 1987 to 1991 and in independent ball in 1995, 1996 and 1998. He spent a whole season and part of another at Triple-A, but never ascended to the majors.

He was originally taken by the Chicago Cubs in the 29th round of the 1987 amateur draft, a few picks ahead of one-game wonder Zak Shinall. In his debut season, he hit .301/.380/.445 with 77 hits in 71 games for the Geneva Cubs. His 20 doubles tied Kevin Burdick for second in the New York-Penn League, behind Jimmy Barragan's 23. He never again experienced such success in the Cubs chain, with his nadir being a .103/.164/.147 line for the Iowa Cubs in his first try at Triple-A in 1990. In 1995, 1996 and 1998 he played in the indy Texas-Louisiana League, mostly for the Lubbock Crickets, hitting .288/.368/.394 at that level. In 1997, he managed Lubbock, leading them to a 37-50 record.

Overall, Sullivan batted .261/.338/.381 with 37 home runs, 284 RBI and 599 hits in 703 games.
