Biographical Information[edit]

Glenn Stetter spent seven seasons in the minor leagues, mostly in the Western International League, playing in 1942 and from 1946 to 1951. He spent significant time at second base and in the outfield.

He began his career in 1942, but missed 1943 to 1945 to service in World War II. Upon his return, he slashed .366/.466/.600 with 18 home runs, 104 RBI, 49 doubles, 132 runs and 183 hits in 134 games for the WINTL's Wenatchee Chiefs; he also hit .286 in 5 games for the Pacific Coast League's Sacramento Solons, bringing his season average to .364. He led the WINTL in batting average. The next year, he hit .351/.417/.492 with 156 hits in 117 games for the Tacoma Tigers, with whom he'd also spend 1948, 1949 and part of 1950. In 1948, he batted .330/.430/.473 with 7 home runs, 104 RBI and 108 runs scored in 156 games and in 1949, he slipped to .288/.390/.444 with 13 home runs, 73 RBI and 111 runs scored in 133 games. Also spending some time with the Spokane Indians in 1950, Stetter batted a league-leading .369 that season, collecting 181 hits in 136 games. He wrapped up his career in 1951, batting .301/.413/.370 in 138 games for the Salem Senators. Overall, Stetter batted .330 with 1,124 hits in his career.
