Biographical Information[edit]
Gilberto Peynado was MVP of the Panamanian League in 1964, playing for the Bocas del Toro. He hit .381 for the same club in 1966 to win the batting title. He played for the Panamanian national team that won the Bronze Medal in the 1966 Central American and Caribbean Games. He played briefly in the US, going 3 for 12 with a run, two RBI and a walk for the 1968 Gastonia Pirates. He had 3 putouts in the outfield and one at 1B.
