Gerardo Estrada Mayorga

Biographical Information[edit]
Gerardo Estrada played for the Guatemalan national team in the 1995 Pan American Games, 1997 Central American Games, 2001 Central American Games (Silver Medal) and 2003 Pan American Games. He was named the All-Star catcher in the 2006 Central American Games when Guatemala won the Silver Medal; he was the only non-Nicaraguan on the All-Star team. He was Guatemala's cleanup man in the 2008 Americas Baseball Cup. He went 3 for 13 with the team's only home run, four walks and a team-high 5 RBI while alternating between catcher, designated hitter and first base. Estrada was Guatemala's second-oldest player at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games. He became their manager by the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games.
His brother Amilcar Estrada also played for the Guatemalan national team.
