Biographical Information[edit]
The book Baseball Fever: Early Baseball in Michigan mentions that George Keerl was a player on the Actives, a team from Clinton, IA (apparently in 1871) which beat Chicago's White Stockings in an exhibition game. In addition to playing 6 games for the White Stockings in 1875, he umpired one National Association contest in 1872 and another in 1875.
