Biographical Information[edit]
George Grygiel was a strike replacement umpire for Game 1 of the 1970 NLCS.
He was a minor league umpire at the time, having started off his career in 1964 in the Midwest League. He moved to the Florida State League in 1965 and the Carolina League in 1966. In 1967 and 1968, he was in the Southern League, in 1969 and 1970 he worked in the International League, then from 1971 to 1974 in the American Association.
