Biographical Information[edit]

George Gerberman pitched in one career major league game. He started the September 23, 1962 game for the Chicago Cubs against the New York Mets. He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings giving up 3 hits, 1 earned run, 5 walks and 1 strikeout. The Mets won the game, 2-1. Gerberman did not get a decision.

The Cubs' lineup that day included Ernie Banks, Billy Williams and Ron Santo.

George also pitched eight seasons in the minors. Part of four of the seasons were with the Amarillo Gold Sox. In 1966, he had a record of 12-2 with them.
