Biographical Information[edit]
George Caithamer started five games behind the plate for the Chicago White Sox during the September stretch in 1934, hitting .316/.350/.368 with a double and 3 RBI. The regular catcher for the White Sox that year, Ed Madjeski, hit .221. He was born, and died, in Chicago. He played in the minors for several years, and also managed in the minors (according to The Ultimate Philadelphia Athletics Reference Book 1901-1954). Later, he worked as a driver, dying at just 43.
