Eugene G. Smith
Gene Smith worked two National League games as a replacement umpire in 1979, when the regular umpires were on strike. The two games were at the Astrodome in Houston, TX.
Smith had umpired in the Florida State League in 1968, then was on the restricted list the following year (which may have been a result of serving in the military). He then returned for the 1970 season.
