Biographical Information[edit]

Gene Scruggs played in the Negro Leagues.

He pitched for the Detroit Stars in 1956-1957 and the Kansas City Monarchs in '57 as well. He was noted for his curveball but had control problems. He quit baseball as he figured he was not a major league prospect and became a mortician.
