Biographical Information[edit]

Gene Patton appeared in one game in the majors.

One of fifteen children, he and his brothers formed a baseball team by themselves. The six sisters formed a basketball team. He played baseball, football and basketball in high school.

He went into the Army in August 1944.

His 1946 playing season was interrupted by rheumatic fever. The book The Minor League Milwaukee Brewers states that he first got the fever while in the Army.
