Biographical Information[edit]

Gene Krug hit .400 in his cup of coffee with the Chicago Cubs in 1981. He only appeared as a pinch hitter in the major leagues.

He is also known as Gary Krug, Gary being his first name, while Eugene is his middle name.

He was a high school baseball and basketball star at Billy Mitchell High School in Colorado, and played youth ball with Goose Gossage. In the minors, Ernie Banks and Billy Williams were two of his hitting coaches.

Since his playing days, he has coached high school baseball and softball for many years.
