Biographical Information[edit]

Gene Baker has won over 300 games as a college coach.

Baker was a C-DH as a college player, winning All-Ohio Valley Conference honors in 1980. He was head coach of Bristol University (1985-1986), the University of Northern Iowa (1988-1990) and the University of Louisville (1991-1995). With Louisville, he set a school record with 37 wins in 1992. He was assistant coach at Wake Forest University for a year. He was head coach of Guilford College from 1998-2005, going 179-149 to bring his career record to 378-505. He then was hired as athletic director at Davidson Academy.
