Gary Puccio

Gary Puccio has been a college coach.

Puccio has been a math teacher at Island Trees High School for 21 years (as of 2010); he was also their pitching coach in 2002-2004. Gary was head coach of SUNY-Old Westbury from 1989-1993, winning Knickerbocker Conference Coach of the Year in 1993. From 1994-1998, he guided Manhattan College. In 1998, he led the team to its first 20-win season in 95 years. He was named Metro Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year in 1996 and 1998.

Gary next was head coach at Suffolk County Community College from 1999-2002. After coaching for the high school he taught at, he was head coach at Briarcliffe College from 2005-2010. He next became head coach of Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2011. He went 135-254-1 in eight seasons before retiring. He has been an associate scout for the Seattle Mariners for over a decade as well.
