Biographical Information[edit]

Gary Grob was a long-time college coach.

He hit .354 at Winona State and helped the team to the 1961 NAIA College World Series and 1962 NAIA College World Series. He went back to the school in 1963 as assistant coach then was head coach from 1965-1974 and 1976-2022 (taking a sabbatical to earn his doctoral degree at Utah). He was 1,020-563-10, one of the first ten NCAA Division II coaches to 1,000 wins. He led the school to the 1972 NAIA College World Series, 1988 NAIA College World Series and 1992 NAIA College World Series. He set a record for wins by a college coach in Minnesota. He is in the NAIA Hall of Fame, American Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame, Winona State Hall of Fame, NSIC Hall of Fame and Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame.
