Garry Thompson

Garry Thompson played for the South Australia team that won the Claxton Shield in 1964, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1970 and 1971. He won the Helms Award in 1967. He caught all 55 South Australia Claxton Shield games from 1964-1972. He played for the Australian national team in the 1971 Asian Championship, the first appearance for Australia in that tournament. In 2013, he was inducted into the Baseball Australia Hall of Fame.
