Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Garrett Zyskowski spent two seasons in the minors.

He was 9-2 with a 3.54 ERA at WVU in 1998, tying for the Big East Conference lead. He had a better record and ERA than Brad Lidge, who was named Big East Pitcher of the Year. He was selected by the Houston Astros in the 22nd round of the 1998 amateur draft. He split the summer of '98 between the Auburn Doubledays (2-0, 4 UER, 5 H, 1 BB, 9 K in 12 IP) and Quad Cities River Bandits (5-3, 3.67). He wrapped up his career with the 1999 Michigan Battle Cats at 2-0, 7.71 with one save and a 2.02 WHIP. Overall, his record as a pro was 9-3, 3.94 in 33 games (9 starts).
