Biographical Information

Outfielder Garrett Whitley was taken as the 13th overall pick in the 2015 amateur draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. It was the highest a New York high schooler had gone since Manny Ramirez in 1991. The scout was Tim Alexander.

Between the GCL Rays and Hudson Valley Renegades in 2015, he hit .174/.293/.312 with three home runs and 17 RBI in 42 games. He began 2016 with Hudson Valley and was ranked the #5 prospect in the club's system by Baseball America going into the season.
