Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Gardner O'Flynn played in the Texas Rangers system from 1993 to 1996 and for the independent Massachusetts Mad Dogs in 1997 and 1998. He was taken by the Rangers in the 35th round of the 1993 amateur draft.

With the GCL Rangers in 1993, he was 4-3 with a 0.67 ERA in 18 relief appearances. He was 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA in 20 appearances for the Hudson Valley Renegades in 1994. Moving to the rotation in 1995, he was 9-10, 2.96 in 30 games (24 starts) for the Charleston RiverDogs. In 1996, he was 8-9, 4.61 in 28 games (17 starts) for the Port Charlotte Rangers. Joining Massachusetts in 1997, he was 13-4 with 7 complete games and a 2.85 ERA in 20 games (19 starts) his first year and 3-5, 3.99 in 11 starts in 1998.

Overall, O'Flynn was 23-24 with a 3.31 ERA in 96 games (41 starts) in the Rangers system, 16-9 with a 3.22 mark in 31 games (30 starts) for Massachusetts and 39-33 with a 3.28 ERA in 127 games (71 starts) overall.
