Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Gabriel Ortiz played in the Oakland A's' chain from 2004-2010 after being signed by scout Juan Eduardo Martinez. After playing for two teams in the independent North American League in 2011 he retired as a player.
Ortiz was a coach for the AZL Athletics in 2015-2018 and AZL Athletics Green in 2019. He has been the A's Minor League Catching Coordinator since 2020 (as of 2023).
