=Biographical Information[edit]

Frenchy Fournier played only part of one year as a professional baseball player, hitting .260 with no homers and 3 RBI in limited time as an outfielder with the 1953 Oshkosh Giants in the Wisconsin State League. He is not to be confused with Henry Fournier, who was also known as "Frenchy" but played six decades earlier.

Very little personal information about him was recorded at the time. Teammate Bill O'Donnell, who was a pitcher on this team, later recalled that his home state may have been New Jersey and that Frenchy was quite short and rather small, but a speedy baserunner. He had to rely on his speed for his offense at the plate, as he did not hit with power. According to O'Donnell, he was either released after about one month in Oshkosh, or perhaps assigned to another Class D team in the New York Giants farm system. Given he does not seem to have played for any other team, it is most likely that he was released.
