Biography[edit]

Frederick Terkelsen is expected to begin his minor league career in 2008.

Terkelsen developed notice first on the softball field; his father Jens had been a founder of the Danish Baseball Softball Federation and his mother had also been a softball player. Freddy was on the Danish team that won Gold in the 2004 European Junior Softball Championship. From 2005-2007, he played softball in New Zealand. By age 15, he was already a member of the Danish national softball team, the youngest player in team history. He was the top batter in the 2006 European Softball Championship. He was the top hitter in the Danish softball playoffs in both 2006 and 2007.

Terkelsen participated in the European Baseball Academy in 2006 and 2007 and performed well enough to get a contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He was the first Danish player from the Academy to sign a MLB deal; in fact, he was the only player who was not from a nation that participates in the European Championship A Pool and European Cup. He is expected to play for the AZL Angels in 2008.

Terkelsen opted for softball by turning down the Angels contract. He did not play professionally in the US and is now out of baseball.
