Fredbird
Fredbird is the St. Louis Cardinals mascot. The character first appeared on April 6, 1979, making him part of the generation of mascots introduced in the wake of the popularity of the San Diego Chicken. He was introduced one year after the Phillie Phanatic and at the same time as the Pirate Parrot and Youppi!.
He is an anthropomorphic cardinal bird sporting the team's colors in the form of a cap and shirt.
