Biographical Information[edit]
Fred Tyler was the brother of George "Lefty" Tyler. The two were teammates with the Boston Braves in 1914, although Fred only caught 6 games for the team, while his older brother was a mainstay of the pitching staff for the "Miracle Braves", who won the 1914 World Series. A third brother, Bill Tyler, played in the minors.
He played in the minor leagues from 1914 to 1922, missing the 1918 season altogether while serving in the military during World War I.
