Biographical Information[edit]
Fred Truax played one game in the 1890 National League. He appeared in left field and got a hit. The regular left fielder for the 1890 Pittsburgh Alleghenys was 19-year-old John Kelty, who played only the one year in the majors. However, Fred played his one game after Kelty had played his last.
Fred was from Chicago, and his one game was when Pittsburgh was in Chicago. He was ninth in the batting order, and Sporting Life listed his name as "Traux".
