Biographical Information[edit]
Fred Sherry pitched 10 games for the Washington Senators in 1911. In the minors from 1910-1917, he pitched four years in the New York State League.
The Washington Herald featured him in an article titled Ainsmith and Sherry Here for Spring Trip (March 3, 1911). It mentioned he was discovered by Kid Elberfeld, had pitched and played outfield at Villanova University, and started in professional baseball the previous year.
Fred Crolius was the baseball coach at Villanova during the time Sherry was there.
