Biographical Information[edit]
Fred Liese was traded before the 1910 season for former batting champion Ginger Beaumont. Liese then got into five games with the Boston Doves that year, but did not play in the field.
Fred came out of the University of Wisconsin, where he started five years after Addie Joss left.
Liese played most of the 1910 season with the St. Paul Saints, for whom his .290 batting average was only one point behind the team leader, Josh Clarke (Fred Clarke's brother).
He apparently did a considerable amount of pitching in 1907-1908 along with playing the field.
