Biographical Information[edit]
Fred Calaicone was a minor league player and college coach.
Calaicone played in the New York Yankees organization in 1953 for the McAlester Rockets of the Sooner State League. He hit .257/.347/.382 in 40 games, fielding .968 at 1B.
He later was a firefighter for the New York Fire Department (1964-1984), was Fire Commissioner for the Greenburgh Fire Department, coached at Cardinal Spellman High School for 13 years and coached baseball at Pace University from 1981 to 2000, going 397-389-4.
