Estadio Fray Nano
(Redirected from Fray Nano Stadium)
Estadio Fray Nano (Fray Nano Stadium in English) is a ballpark in Mexico City, Distrito Federal which was briefly home to the Diablos Rojos del Mexico of the Mexican League.
Estadio Fray Nano was remodeled in 2014 when the return of the Formula One Mexican Grand Prix meant that Foro Sol Ballpark, located on the racing track and which serves as its grandstand, was no longer available for baseball. It was built on the location of a ballpark used by an amateur team, which was enlarged and modernized. The Red Devils played their first game here at the start of the 2015 season. The ballpark seats 25,000 its its new configuration (capacity was 5,200 before enlargement).
On March 26-27, Major League Baseball used the new facility to stage a pair of exhibition games between the San Diego Padres and Houston Astros, two teams interested in expanding their audience in Mexico. In 2019, the Diablos Rojos left the temporary ballpark to move into brand new Estadio Alfredo Harp Helú.
