Biographical Information[edit]
Franklin (Juan) Parra hit .302/.356/.463 for the China Trust Whales of Taiwan in 1999. He led the Chinese Professional Baseball League with 111 hits, beating out several former major leaguers and was 10th in average. He stole 34 bases in 47 tries to finish among the league leaders in swipes. He was named to the Best Ten as the top shortstop in the circuit.
Parra was hitting coach of the DSL Giants in 2014-2019, DSL Giants Black in 2021, and DSL Giants Orange in 2022-2024.
