Biographical Information[edit]

Frank Yeager played baseball and football in college then coached for his alma mater in 1957. He became a high school teacher and baseball coach then joined the Secret Service, working as part of the security detail for John F. Kennedy. He had been doing advance work in Austin, TX when JFK was assassinated in Dallas. In 1964, he returned to education, helping desegregate Kentucky public schools and investigating civil rights issues. He was a school superintendent in Kentucky and North Carolina from 1969-1997. He was later honored by Centre College.
