Biographical Information[edit]
Frank Wurm is (as of 2010) one of three big-league pitchers who had triple-digit lifetime ERAs. He had just one appearance in The Show, starting the second game of a Labor Day doubleheader in 1944; he was charged with four earned runs in one-third of an inning. He never got another chance in the majors because of arm and control problems. The World War II veteran suffered from combat stress disorder and his nervous condition flared up on the mound.
